comp_be I listened to this live for the first time at PYJAEN's headline gig at the Bermondsey Social Club. They performed it just as it is on the recording and it sounds amazing. Good job guys can't wait to see you again. Favorite track: Gold Plated (feat Odette Peters).

Torsten Brilliant EP by up-and-coming PYJAEN. A great mix of different styles showcasing what they are capable off. My personal favourite is Gold Plated, the collaboration with an amazing Odette Peters - a great summer groove. Close second is Sugar Rush which shows hints of Return to Forever style fusion mixed with hard hitting funk grooves. Really love their energy and scope. There is much more to come I’m sure. Favorite track: Gold Plated (feat Odette Peters).

tjcross PYJÆN FC is just such a groovy and uplifting tune. If this whole EP is to the same standard as their first album, boy are we in for a treat! Can't wait for May 29th!!!!
First discovered these guys at Love Supreme 2019 and have been keeping up with them ever since. They've easily got to be my favourite band with a perfect unique blend of styles and ideas. Favorite track: PJFC.

More than a quintet, PYJÆN is the unified expression of the emotions, journeys and influences that comprise its diverse members. The group seamlessly melds funk, afro-beat and contemporary sounds with nods to hip-hop and disco, whilst acknowledging the heady days of 1920’s era jazz.

Their first offering since their self titled 2019 debut (which was championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan & many more) the EP sees the outfit join forces with the incredible Blue Lab Beats for title track ‘Sage Secrets’ - creating a joyous, head-nod inducing jam - full of punchy drums and dreamlike keys, perfectly punctuated by the watertight brass section. PYJÆN are also joined by the incredibly gifted and soulful Odette Peters for ‘Gold Plated’ who's smoky-vocals grace the track and marking the first time the band have featured vocals across any of their music.
